MARCIA MCDADE  MCMANN
                                   BATH  ART STUDIOS

Many new ideas have come my way because I located a  studio in Bath.  Enter the site and see what is happening or make an
appointment to come by the studio if you are travelling our way.

Bath was incorporated in 1705 and is the oldest town in NC.
The first library and the oldest Episcopal Church, St Thomas, were established here.   The earliest postal road ran through Bath.  It was
an active port in the 18th  Century and  home to John Lawson who
was the first surveyor of the colony.  The  notorious Pirate,
Blackbeard aka Edward Teach made Bath his haven and hideout.
Edna Ferber visited Bath in the early 20th Century and did
research for her popular novel "Showboat".
Bath is located along the inner banks of the Pamlico River Basin
and is accessed by the Albermarle Tour Highway.
A visit to Bath is a unique experience as it combines the
atmosphere of an 18th century village with contemporary life.

"I enjoy exploring new techniques in drawing and printmaking to maintain a unique style.  My desire is to reconstruct a place from memory and create a sense of calm simplicity.  Color composition and form are my most important tools.  I love to loose myself in the journey to the surface.”
